Trumpeter and composer Sébastien Blanchon won the "Best Original Soundtrack" award at the 2025 Life Beyond Life festival in Turin for Bertrand Guerry’s *Le Bonheur est une bête sauvage*. He was recently selected for the 2026 Apulia Emerging Composers festival and named a finalist for the Film Sync Awards at the Soeurs Jumelles festival.

He has also composed original scores for short films—such as Nicolas Vimenet’s *Histoires d'un chaman Miao* and Rabah Brahimi’s *Sauve-moi*—and co-composed music for documentaries like *Vape Wave* and *Mère Océan* (additional music) by Jan Kounen.

Known as "N’zeng" for nearly 30 years, he brings an indie touch to his film scores, drawing on extensive stage experience. Noted for his ability to create hybrid music (blending trumpet, strings, and electronics), his influences are diverse, ranging from jazz, electro, and hip-hop/trip-hop to funk and soul. His compositions reveal a distinct talent for atmospheric, melodic tracks.

His recent work reflects a deep love of cinema, as seen in albums like *Alien Suites* (inspired by *Alien*) and *Mustang Force*, a tribute to the soundtracks of Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone.

Since 2016, N’zeng has been performing and touring with L’Entourloop (three albums). Previously, he collaborated with artists such as Gorillaz, Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Rone, and Baxter Dury, as well as Charlotte Savary (Wax Tailor) on his 2024 album, *N’zeng - The Trip*. He launched his stage career with the band Le Peuple de l’Herbe, of which he was a member for 15 years (six albums), playing nearly 700 concerts in France and abroad.

He is currently working on his next EP and regularly composes for... ...music for dance or stage productions such as *Hôtel Bellevue* and *18’34’’* by Thomas Guerry (Compagnie Arcosm), *Tapis* (Compagnie Corps Éveillés), and the contemporary dance piece *Soutenir* by David Drouard (D.A.D.R. Cie).

He is currently composing the original score for the upcoming dance film *Comme prévu* by Thomas and Bertrand Guerry.

Sébastien Blanchon began playing the cornet at the age of eight. In 1997, he was awarded a gold medal in trumpet at the Lyon National Conservatory before embarking on his established stage career.
